Over 100,000 people watched Fernando Alonso street inauguration in Oviedo !

Over 100,000 people watched Saturday in a demonstration conducted by the pilot Fernando Alonso in Oviedo his natal city, the Spaniard received on this occasion a replica of the street which will bear his name in the hometown.

Downtown Oviedo has turned into a circuit of 1.8 kilometers, the Spanish pilot demonstrating his qualities using the “R28” monopost and other cars from  the French brand Renault, a Megane Sport RS a Megane CC, a Megane Trophy and a kart.

“I never thought one day I will stand in front of my fellow-citizen with an F1 and it will come so many people to see me. Time has come that day and I will never forget it, will be a great memory for me. It is an event to see a F1 monopost on the streets  that tomorrow will come to shop, “said Alonso.

This was the third Roadshow in which Alonso participated in the steering wheel of a Renault, the streets of Spain after the Madrid (2003) and Seville (2006).
